Pupils at Saint Pierre look forward to their Art and Design lessons. We aim to provide a syllabus where pupils are fully engaged in lessons that are fun, thought-provoking and full of opportunity.
The Art and Design programme encompasses practising and mastery of formal elements, techniques and processes. Creativity and the freedom to be original are experiences that we value at Saint Pierre. We encourage our pupils to be inquisitive, set personal challenge, play and share.
The study of history, contemporary subjects, Art movements and Artists aims to equip and inspire pupils for personal, confident and informed responses. Projects vary from large group work, partnerships, independent achievement, public and competitive forums. Regular trips, workshops community projects and celebration, form an important part of the teaching and learning community at Saint Pierre.
We are very proud that Saint Pierre was chosen in 2019 as the first hosts of the primary section of the Leigh Art Trail. This honour was recently extended to the 2020 event and positions the school as a real centre of art within the local community.
