At Saint Pierre School, we pride ourselves on ensuring that all children adopt a healthy lifestyle from the earliest possible age. This really is catering for the mind, body and soul.
Assemblies take place at least three times a week, and these encourage children to adapt strong morals, to think for themselves, and to understand the difference between right and wrong. These assemblies approach these difficult topics in a thought-provoking, fun and interactive way. These themes are further developed and discussed in the Personal, Health and Social Education lessons, and these take place every week in all classes where children also learn about the potential hazards to a healthy lifestyle, e.g. tobacco and alcohol.
Healthy Lifestyle
Saint Pierre School ensures that every child enjoys a great deal of exercise through a huge variety of sports taught by our PE specialist. Children know the importance of regular exercise, and a considerable amount of the timetable is given over to meet this important need. Saint Pierre School is one of the very few schools to be given recognition from the Local Authority for excellence in this area.
Healthy Eating
The final aspect of healthy living at Saint Pierre School is the wonderfully nutritious food:
- Our very own chef
- Home cooked meals
- Freshly prepared, everyday
- Local produce
Children enjoy a wide variety of delicious food that is made from locally-produced fresh ingredients – the only frozen food here is the ice cream! Without a doubt, our school meals and snacks are second to none.
