At Saint Pierre we have a strong and prominent House System which provides a focus for behaviour, competition and achievement.
Children are assigned to one of our four houses upon enrolment (siblings are allocated the same house). Our houses; Lion, Fleur, Clef and Chateau and are derived from our Saint Pierre emblem:
- The Rampant Lion: this is the embodiment of courage, strength and nobleness.
- The Fleur-de-Lys: this is the emblem of French kings.
- The Clef (The Key): this is because Saint Peter holds the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven.
- Chateau (Castle):
House Points
Children earn House Points in their daily school life for things such as impeccable manners, outstanding work and kindness to others. House points are collected in classes and totalled at the end of each week in our celebration assembly. Houses are also used to compete in events such as our annual Easter Egg Hunt, Sports Day and our Cross Country Competition.
The winning House for the year is announced in our Prize-Giving presentation at the end of the Summer Term and awarded the House Cup. The children feel a great sense of pride when representing their House and show this by wearing their badge on their lapel.
